There’s nothing that’s bestof material here.
I mean its best of lemmy.
Every bestof thread has this comment.
Stop.
Someone venting isn’t even quality, let alone bestof quality.
Stop.
Oh wow, an equally no-effort all-purpose response, what a fucking surprise.
None of you ever know what you want from this sort of community. What the fuck does the best of lemmy look like, if not people picking out especially insightful randos?
The fact it’s someone slagging on an instance that everyone takes issue with does not mean that instance is less of a problem. Maybe - just maybe! - everyone vents about dealing with their shit because they’re a bunch of assholes. Maybe the problem is real. A dry reading of how and why they’re a problem, and what they could do differently if they actually fucking cared, is not an invitation for you to roll your eyes and act like that’s nothing.
It is very difficult to take you seriously when you attempt to play the victim in receiving a low effort response to your own low effort comment. Don’t dish it out of you can’t take it.
The bar is exceptionally low for something to be considered bestof around here and this still misses it by a mile. The linked comment accomplishes quite literally nothing; It doesn’t make any cogent points, it doesn’t provide any actionable information, it’s just venting and asking that Hexbear users stop being so mean.
Fuck else is someone supposed to say to yet another blank nothing ‘well this isn’t bestof’ whinge? What a meatless scrap of bone comment. Pointing out your short dismissive comment is not hypocrisy on my part; whining about short dismissive comments is hypocrisy on yours.
And your list of things the linked comment doesn’t do is a list of things it does in fact do. The hell did you read instead?
There’s a famous quote that I like by Rudyard Kipling:
This comment, offering calmness amongst the storm, intrigued me.
The comment is far less calm than you would have us believe. I think it just resonated with your own frustrations. That doesn’t make it good in any way.
I see it as a call for people to be able to discuss things calmly and rationally. Certain facts within the statement e.g. “get called an idiot shitlib and told to read some theory” are definitely emotionally provocative (as are terms such as “everything” and “nothing”), but indeed that happens sometimes, i.e. everything is relative.
The man who can keep his head when everyone around him is losing theirs, has found who to blame for the fuckup
Do you mean himself? Indeed he is the only one who can control the situation, e.g. by blocking them. On the other hand, OP (of the OP I mean, not the commenter promoted here) was a new member of Lemmy, so was shocked to see this behavior, and wanted reassurance and a community of like-minded people to stand with them.
