Afternoon everyone,

I wanted to go over a few points related to pricing, stats and the roadmap

Pricing

  1. Sync for Lemmy is completely free with ads (the same as Sync for Reddit)

  2. You can remove ads in the account picker or drawer for a one time fee of ~$20

  3. Sync Ultra also removes ads but it’s not required

  4. I’ll be working on regional prices over the coming weeks

There are now 24k installed users up from 100 the previous day!

I’m going to be spending the next few days going through all of the comments / messages and fixing any crashes.

As always thanks for the support and hope you’re liking Sync!

Lj

There’s no clear way to look at all, there’s an “everything” but it’s not clear if that’s classified as “all” like other Lemmy apps

I have sync for Reddit but I won’t be paying $130+ CAD for ultra, especially when sync for Reddit cost me less than $10

Everything and all appear to be synonymous when compared to the default web browser.

Everything=all but there is a Lemmy oddity here.

Everything shows everything for all the communities subscribed to by anyone on your instance. So it might be different from one instance to another because the users have subscribed to different sets of communities.

It’s likely to be a small difference between two big instances (lots of users so most communities will have at least one subscriber), but if you self host an instance it’ll be pretty useless.

Ultra pricing was similar for reddit IIRC. Removing ads is $20, Sync for Reddit Pro was cheap years ago, this is different

No it definitely wasn’t the same, sync pro has always been cheap, and even when I check it now it’s close to $10.

Now he wants to charge $130 for an ultra. Okay.
