    It’s all predicated on the belief that this life is pretty much inconsequential.

    60-80 years of a shit life is nothing compared to an infinite eternity in heaven for following the rules and making your donations.

    The main requirement is you have to accept whatever shit happens to you. And since the reward is after you die, no one can disprove it.

      Following this logic, the correct reaction should be to be sad not to be taken out of this live instead of feeling lucky.

        Don’t know many Evangelicals do you?

        They’re pretty close to a death cult. Any sort of death is “God taking me home” and lots of them decline pretty basic medic care like blood pressure pills.

        The only reason Christianity isn’t a death cult is they had to make the rule up that suicide gets you sent to hell, or else everyone that honestly believes in it would skip straight to heaven.

          That was kind of my argument. If God takes you out: THEN, and only THEN you should feel “blessed”, as it’s a fast and convinient short cut to heaven. But not hitting you with that plane just means more time waiting and suffering. (By their logic.)
