There is nothing new and exciting coming out. I remember buying the first smart phone, that was really cool and exiting. Now they are like televisions, nothing exciting about them anymore.
To be fair, there were improvements that legit made the experience much better. Going with your TV example, changes between CRT and LCD is huge.
Nevertheless, there’s no reason to but a new one very year.
That switch was more than 10 years ago.
