With the website there’s a handy crosspost button when I’m scrolling a feed. Is there similar way to crosspost with Sync?

At the moment the crosspost mechanism of Lemmy is to simply link submissions with the same URLs.

If OP copies the URL and reposts it in another community, it will automatically link them as crosspost at the server level.

Excellent - thanks for the explanation! (I guess the cross post button just makes that easy.) If I paid closer attention, I may have noticed that, but I hadn’t yet.

      Thanks again!

If OP copies the URL and reposts it in another community,

Which url? Sync shows a link to the post preview and a link to the post comments.

You can only crosspost a submission that links to another website or an image. You can’t crosspost a text-only submission in Lemmy at the moment.

This is actually what the crosspost button does. It copies the URL of the post and let you select in which community you want to put it.

Huh, I thought there was more to it than that. Thanks for the clarification.
