I can’t disagree with the point of the video, social media sites/apps are really great, until they aren’t. It seems like the reasons for “until they aren’t” are getting more severe and happen faster, largely propelled by the companies running them getting greedy and shitty.

I actually and honestly could live without any social media. The only thing I read is Lemmy anyway, I never got why I should read Twitter-like stuff, that’s too out of context, like the walls in the school toilet. The rest I just forgot. Something with face… My prediction is that the whole ordeal will die anyways in the next 10 years, but until then many many people will let themselves be milked by the few. But that’s how the world is, I guess. People are still joining organized religion, too, even though it’s a few thousand years since they did something good without ulterior motives. Gotta go now, there’s a swedish chair that’s waiting in my workshop to be created. Bye
