    The one good thing about prion diseases is that by their nature, they can’t mutate, so jumping species isn’t really a worry (unlike, say, bat diseases)

      I know almost nothing about prion diseases other than they scare the shit out of me. But mad cow is a prion disease. Now they think it may have started as scrapey in sheep. If that’s true it went from sheep to cows to humans. If it’s not true it still jumped from cows to humans.
