    “Air Canada confirmed to Global News that during the boarding of flight AC056, a passenger ‘who had boarded the aircraft normally,’ opened a cabin door on the opposite side of the aircraft, instead of going to their seat while the aircraft was at the gate.”

    Right in, then pulls the emergency/service door and flops out the other side… 300+ others lose six hours of their life.

    Probably belatedly realized he was gonna be in another 737MAX airplane.

    But seriously, why not arrest and remove the guy like in a football stretcher, close up the plane and goooooo?

      They needed to check the plane for damage or any kind of mechanical fault that might have caused the incident, make sure they had enough information on what had happened to defeat any lawsuits, . . . and possibly wash the blood off.

    When I was a kid, a woman tried this in the first class cabin, but the staff managed to intercept her and force her back into her seat as the plane pulled away from the gate. The story was, that she was terrified of flying, and chose a trans-atlantic flight for her first flight. The worst part was that her husband was sitting beside her and said and did nothing to either stop her, or console her. The flight attendant kicked her off the plane, with her husband, and their child, who was sitting at the back of the plane in the economy section (WTF?).

    A little more information has surfaced, if anyone cares: the passenger is male (or at least was referred to using male pronouns), is from Thunder Bay, and may have been having mental health issues.

    While not as high up I was always nervous about falling off the belt loader while unloading a 777. I can’t imagine falling from the passenger deck.

      No doubt. It’s not falling-from-the-sky high, but planes are tall and concrete is bad for the bones.
