Poor guy. I feel kinda bad for him. He was obviously sold a bill of goods, and his entire identity was about being this elite soldier. Then reality hit him in his stupid face. His country doesn’t give a shit about him, the army he’s fighting for doesn’t give a shit about him, he’s probably going to die cold and afraid on the wrong side of history while the rest of the world laughs at his self-imposed misery.
At least he can serve as a new baseline for some of us to say “well, at least my fuck-ups and bad decisions could be much worse…”
