Republicans on the House education committee are marking up a bill to cap the borrowing of some student loans while preventing new debt relief.

The GOP insists that an 18 year old that was lied to about earning potential associated with a degree repay 100% of their debts while voting for a guy that has personally defaulted on more debt than practically anyone in history and continues to do so.

    Crisis at the border? Pfft.

    War in Ukraine? Nope.

    Genocide in Gaza? No thanks.

Stop Biden from helping students with education debt? FUCK YES! LETS GET WRITING!

A deal still needs to be made on the budget too. I think they’ve kicked the can down the road three times now?

Man, if only the Dem candidate who spent the whole last primary telling voters he can negotiate with Republicans had won.

    Oh…

He did, it’s just as soon as he won he said there’s no way he could change even a democrats vote

At least we’re not running him again since the main reason he said he’d be the best candidate turned out to be horse shit…

All I hear is complaining without any alternative candidate being proposed. You going to vote RFK? And you think he’ll be better than Biden? Real life involves making decisions between 2 imperfect things. Biden is far from perfect but he is still the best candidate who is willing to actually run.

All I hear is complaining without any alternative candidate being proposed.

Normally that’s thru our primary system…

Unfortunately this year the DNC pulled an entire states primary delegates for something controlled by the Republicans who control the states laws.

But even if they let the primaries happen, running against Biden is essentially career suicide

It’s not even a decade sense the DNC was openly blacklisting anyone that worked on a primary campaign against an incumbent.

Stop pretending a single private party with zero accountability is enough of an option against Republicans

Mathematically, they quite literally are the only option until we can get rid of FPtP voting. It’s not the DNC’s fault that “3rd parties” aside from the DSA refuse to do the ground work necessary at state & local level to be taken seriously by anyone other than a handful of crackpots.

You be famous if you could prove Duverger’s Law wrong. But you can’t.

No one is disagreeing with that chief…

But if we just accept it, we’re fucked.

The one Republican House leader that got in on the 15th try, ended up negotiating with Biden, but got kicked out. The current House of Representatives majority is intent on not doing anything meaningful, and that’s part of the MAGA election strategy somehow.
