I think the important part here is in the last paragraph
Prior to his return to play, he will be required to formulate and fulfill a program with the league that directly addresses the circumstances that led him to repeat this destructive behavior.
Until he completes whatever program that is, it’s pretty much an indefinite suspension. Who knows what that will be though, another couple days at a retreat?
I would certainly imagine that program will be entirely performative. Ja is either a changed man already after some stern conversations with the league and Nike, or he’s a lost cause. I don’t think that aspect of his suspension will really move the needle on the matter.
Ten weeks in the NBA’s Cabo rehab facility!
More breathing exercises in Florida!
Less than what I expected. Still, this means Ja can’t qualify for the 65-game requirement for awards
Yeah. This was anticlimactic. A lot of people were expecting at least half a season.
This is probably the right amount. What he did was dumb but not half a season bad.
Reddit’s not going to be happy about this lol. But I doubt they’d be happy about anything short of a public execution at this point.
I don’t understand why Silver had to preview this during the finals.
