While I don’t feel like this shills IKEA that badly, i wanna thank you for giving me the term “fast fashion of furniture” because I had yet to find a way to explain why I fucking hate IKEA furniture

(Caveat that fast fashion/furniture is a complex, awful issue when we’re paid in pennies and still required to have clothes and also like sleeping in beds. But I fucking hate when it’s unnecessary)

If you’re careful about which things you buy there it can last as long as any other furniture.

I’m sitting on a 12 year old couch and have a bed frame from 20 years ago upstairs that has survived 2 moves.

The key is no fiber/particle board, no fake leather and using wood glue on the pegs when building.

We have some “fancy” couches from West Elm that are already falling apart 4 years in. So much regret.

Ikea: Releases ads hoping to get the LGBT demographic to buy their shitty furniture. Doesn’t really support LGBT in any way other than using it for their own self promotion. After the shark toy becomes popularly associated with trans people they immediately move to discontinue it in China, but don’t because of backlash.

The LGBT community: MUST CONSOOM SHARK TOY AND RAINBOW BAG

I also spent around 4 hours there. No, I didn’t buy any furniture, I got some Sammla boxes for my dad, a Blåhaj and a Minihaj for me. The store is just incredibly confusing.

Imma be honest, we only really go to IKEA to get designing ideas, for the blahajs and most importantly the food. Veggie meatballs and normal meatballs are just sooo good and have a rather good pricem can even buy them in bags and they even taste great at home. -Sometimes- we purchase some plates but that’s it.
