I knew they did some form of hail suppression, but didn’t know the exact way they did it. Would be a pretty crazy job to have.

    A local orchard has a license to use a “hail cannon” that is purported to disrupt hail using sonic energy. It’s just a big drum that ignites an explosion of propane loud enough to be heard in the next city over. However, hail cannons have zero scientific evidence and only the company that sells them argues for them…

      I think the silver iodide they use on these planes has been shown to be effective

        Yes, condensation nuclei are a thing in precipitation. Loud propane explosions not so much eh
