    Explanation: The Roman Emperor we know as Caligula got his nickname as a young boy, when his father would take him around the Legions’ camps dressed up as a soldier in miniature. The legionaries loved this, and gave him the nickname ‘Caligula’ - ‘Little boots’, after the small military sandals that he wore. Reportedly, Caligula despised the nickname later in life.
