hate when authors assign human behaviors to natural phenomena. black holes don’t experience hunger. let alone kinship to food. they should assign natural behaviors to humans more often. downvoting

I agree with your take. Science journalism is hot garbage.
There’s good journalism as well, e.g. Quanta Magazine, Scientific American &c.
I wouldn’t mind the analogies if people didn’t treat them like fact. It’s supposed to help people understand things; instead they just over anthropomorphize
