This might a difficult one. This was the least cursed image choice.
I’m adding the image here to see it shows up for instances that can’t see it above:
I can see this just fine from sh.itjust.works
Your images are not showing up Rei.
On my desktop I couldn’t see it on my instance but I can using my instance’s Photon client. Then I tried on my instance again using a private window and could see it fine.
Strangely enough, it does the same here in every browser I’ve tried.
Seriously? That’s so weird and annoying.
It’s working fine on my instance and on lemmy.world, I don’t know how else to fix it. There might be some sort federation issue
I checked the instance page here. Your instance is federated with this one.
I know, but I mean an image/media federation issue idk. I posted the image into the text part and it wouldn’t show up for you instance either, but I changed to a link
I guess I still can’t make posts here 😑
You can make posts, for images to show up you gotta be on an instance that is federated. I’m sure there are easier ways to check but I always use the instance URL/instances. IE “leminal.space/instances”.
Ok, I just checked there on my instance and I found lemmy.ca listed as a linked instancemy bad, you already said thatOk, i see, it was like the 8th ca after all those cats. Let’s try giving it time, maybe it will come through. As I said, the image is on their server, so it may take some time.
Think I figured it out Rei. I just checked the instances page at leminal.space and they do not list lemmy.ca as federated.
Oh ok, I’m not sure how to fix that. I thought it’d automatically federate because I subscribed to this community
It does as far as what you see and what you post. Images are stored on your instance so they are not automatically federated. Rei, I can highly recommend lemmy.ca as a great place and I’d say the same for sh.itjust.works.
I’ll make another account .ca later
Should I delete my posts?
Nah, others seem to have no problem seeing them. Maybe it’s just limited to a few instances that can’t see yet.
