A hydrogen fuel-powered passenger train set a Guinness World Record for distance traveled on a test track in March. The trains, from Swiss manufacturer Stadler, are slated to go into use in San Bernardino County, Calif.

    I wonder what kind of rules are set to consider these kinds of records. Because if you make 90% of the train a tank, then sure, it’ll serve well to beat a record, but not carry passengers. And if it’s not to carry passengers, then as a freight train, how much can it pull and for how long?

      The two-car FLIRT-H2 can seat 108 passengers over two cars with a power pack in the middle.

      It’s also a train, so you can easily add more carts.
