China’s cyberspace regulator plans to issue new rules clamping down on the use of wireless file sharing functions such as Bluetooth and Apple’s AirDrop on national security grounds.

The move comes after anti-government protesters in China used AirDrop to share content, bypassing strict internet censorship.

    They likely have a strong dislike of Lemmy as a concept I imagine.

    Not sure if it’s a translation issue or defining things broadly, but calling airdrop a “network” is a stretch to me that could have challenging implications.
