Wow, this was weak.
Also, I thought Anet wouldn’t use Twitter as the primary platform for publishing news/media anymore.
We are not able to predict how future updates to Twitter’s policies may impact our official account’s availability, and it’s important to us that all players have a reliable source of news about the game, your accounts, and our studio. We will continue to communicate on Twitter like we have previously, but we will make our news and announcements forum our first location for “breaking news” on issues that affect things like the live game service. The Guild Wars 2 forums are visible regardless of registration or login, and we will keep it that way.
So for “issues” we have to check the forums and for (SotO) news we still have to check Twitter and/or the official web site? What a mess.
And how many Rifts or Rift-like events is Anet going to (re-)implement?

yeah, that was underwhelming. They should’ve show it with the huge group of players as well, not just very weak rift as a solo. Then again, maybe people not having skyscale like this trailer more as they can see it used etc.
Hello all and happy Tuesday! We’ve got some more Secrets of the Obscure information for you today! Click here to read about the demonic forces awaiting you–the Kryptis–and the rifts that they come from. Once you’ve read through, let us know your thoughts!
Oh, by the way, I’ve got a few extra pieces of information for you about rift hunting! (These will make more sense after you read the blog, so maybe do that first.)
First, rifts do not have cooldowns, so if you want to set a personal best for Number of Kryptis Destroyed, we’ve got you covered.
Second, you can begin a rift hunt in any map that has rift activity. If you happen to be in a map that does not have rift activity, the Heart of the Obscure will help you find one so you donh’t spend valuable Kryptis-destroying time searching.
Third, there are multiple tiers of rifts. The first and easiest tier is intended to be completed by a solo player. (Second-tier rifts are potentially soloable as well, but it will certainly be a challenge.) That said, rift difficulty and rewards scale with group size, so you can always take on first tier rifts with a group if you prefer!
I hope you’re looking forward to this part of Secrets of the Obscure! Thanks as always for reading and for sharing your feedback!

so far it doesnt look that exciting for me, but we will see in game
I agree. Wasn’t there already a rift event in one of the core maps that you had to close by defeating a boss aftering being teleported to a different map?
yes, you defeat riftstalker inside. And from what we have seen so far, those new rifts are worse than those events unfortunately. But again, they didnt show us much yet
That’s a Dynamic Event. Their great feature for their totally-an-expansion is a Dynamic Event. The worst, most laziest kind of dynamic event I’ve seen in a long time.
Unfortunately it seems like that… only thing that makes is different is those tiers of rifts. If high tier rifts are really engaging, it might still be fun
Dynamic Events already scale?
Yeah but it’s supposed to be something different, not same enemies getting stronger - different rifts with different enemies entirely
It better be amazing to top the dynamic change of the old Orr farm zergs where everything could pop up, from champion casters to champion undead gorillas.
