My favorite thing in Metal Gear Solid is around the end of MGS2 where Ocelot has a huge expositional speech explaining the plot and, I swear to fucking god, even he sounds confused at times. But that’s really just the politics in the story; the surface level themes and metaphors are extremely obvious and barely even metaphors with how thinly veiled Kojima is with his allusions. If the character represents sadness, he will straight up name him Sadman and his ability would be that he cries Snake to sleep.
