This is kinda sad, but at this point I trust Jagex to design a good game, and if they think it’s for the best it probably is. Hope the DT2 rewards end up being worth it regardless.
That’s quite disappointing… I understand that it was a lot for this quest though and if they would want to get the prayers right, they would probably have to delay the quest release. I think it wasn’t a bad idea to try to create an alternative prayerbook instead of just a better prayerbook, but that is just really hard. And I think they should stick a bit closer to ancient curses, if they just wanted to create a better prayerbook. I guess this also means we won’t see skilling prayers for a while.
That was a long article, I am surprised they went into so much depth
I’m actually pretty glad they got scrapped. I wasn’t really keen on the prayers they offered. It was a ton of DPS increase, which together with all the new high dps gear we got recently seemed a bit overkill. Adding to that, from what my friends who had a chance to try them told me, the prayers had huge prayer drain and could be 1-tick flicked. I was pretty worried 1-tick flicking ruinous powers would have become meta for any group pve content.
I’m like half relieved and half disappointed lol. There were some good ideas in there but overall it was pretty uninteresting and was just an overall dps increase. I’m happy that when they do decided to revisit a new prayer book, we can expect a more quality product. However, I’m sad that DT2 rewards are a lot less appealing now.
I’m glad they at least tried, it gives them more experience with larger “changing the feel” type of updates.
Regarding the DT2 rewards I felt 4 new bosses with bis rings was already a bit too much so I’m not sad on that front. I just hope the lore holds up, the quests leading up to it were great and had nice puzzles.
Hopefully a few of them can be added to the regular book via scroll drops in the future. Really wanted the accuracy one for hammer lul
