A Russian disinformation operation has set its sights on Stalker 2, which has become a symbol of Ukrainian perseverance.
I was going to wait for the game to go on sale as I try and live the patient gamer life these days But now I’ve decided I’m going to go buy copies of this game for my friends now.
Hey it’s me your friend let’s go bowling sometime
Fuck you, Roman.

I was not really as excited about it, as I’m not as big fan of the horror genre (otherwise I like open world, Witcher 3 was favorite), but now thinking to purchase it, more for the support.
It’s not as much of a horror game as you may have heard. I’m a long time fan of the stalker series and I’d describe it as more of a survival exploration first-person-shooter. There are some moments where it gets a little spooky though, like you may be in a dark area with enemies/monsters every once in a while. It’s a horror game in largely the same way that fallout could be one, there’s spooky stuff occasionally but at its core its exploration and survival with an FPS perspective.
It’s not a horror game, but it’s the scariest game I’ve ever played.
I wouldn’t characterize it as a horror game at all, tbh. It’s a first-person survival game in an eerie, hazardous, open world setting. There’s nothing quite like it, but if you like open world games, it’s worth checking out for sure.
I’m kinda not disappointed in that it’s as broken as OG games. That’s a part of #TheStalkerExperience (and kinda understandable rn). If anything, the engine makes it look too polished for my liking as it loses it’s previous 00s aesthetic that can probably be fixed with some shaders.
Going back to the topic… Do you know why belarussian WoT, russian War Thunder and such got funding and protection? Because ukrainian Stalker before them was in itself, for young men like me, a promo for exploring abandoned buildings and forests, buying equipment, doing strikeball and participating in mockup camp training. Many volounteers in this war circa 2014 probably got there after being interested in Stalker stuff all over ex-USSR, started to partaking in such hobbies before shit hit the fan. And the slav axis of evil then tried to copy it, but I’m not sure what products like World of Tanks can cause in a person besides knowing all tanks by their shape, alcoholism and a soon-coming kidney failure.
