    This would do the opposite for me. The notes would inevitably drive me to look at the Instagram which would probably lead me to messaging her.

    Ah, this was much easier in the past when you could just delete their phone number and be done with it. Nowadays there are so many ways to keep finding them.

    Or the notes are written by the (new) SO in anticipation of them being read by a stalker…
