The parents will probably say that it was part of “god’s plan” and not even consider that it could have been prevented from a vaccination.

Either everything is God’s plan or nothing is.

These parents deserve a conviction for involuntary manslaughter.

Gods plan and free will are interesting, and the relationship between them differs a lot between different types of Christianity

Mere mortals can still plan to delegate decision making to the roll of a die. We do it all the time playing board games. It’s still planned.

Imagine being omnipotent and delegating decisions to the apes’ free will that you created. Same thing.

It’s still either absolute and naught between.

Trying to have a philosophical argument with theosophists is pointless as they’re not arguing as rationalists. One can’t explain away a complex problem with a more complex problem: you just end up with two complex problems.

You know how anti-abortion activists hold up pictures of dead fetuses in protest?

I’m almost to the point of thinking it’d be a good idea for someone to stand outside this family’s house with a poster of that child and large text that reads “They would still be alive if you had vaccinated them.”

Edit: I should qualify with: assuming the child could have been vaccinated. Some can’t and their fates are at the whims of those who can.

Even if they couldn’t have been, herd immunity could have saved them. You’d just have to change the sign to say “they would still be alive without antivaxxers”

Outside the families house would just be cruel. However there are plenty of other places that wouldn’t be cruel and would get a message across. Anytime there is a vaccination protest at the capital that picture would be appropriate. Make sure it is seen enough that congressmen recognize it on sight with no words needed.
