I’m hosting a photo walk through some of my favorite graffiti and mural filled alleys in SF’s Mission District and any Fediverse folks are invited. We’ll meet up at 24th and Valencia at 2pm on March 1st and hit up some of my favorite #SFGraffiti and street art around the area. I’m using #PixelWalk as the hashtag to organize and would love if you can help spread the word.
I was literally driving down 24th that way from Bryant at 13:30 after doing food bank deliveries. How’d it go??
It went great. We had 12 fediverse folks show up (a mix of Mastodon and Pixelfed users, mostly) and walked for two hours. I think some photos are slowly appearing with the tag #PixelWalk. Here’s a photo of about half the group in Osage Alley https://mastodon.social/@docpop/114094192102785974
There aren’t many US users but maybe consider adding it to Mobilizon and link to it there.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it was already up on Mobilizon. I’m not sure if any of our attendees found it through there though. https://mobilizon.us/events/42cb9995-1686-420b-8355-8e46e6138fd3
Oh I did see that after I made the suggestion, haha! But hopefully you can use that to drive more traffic to Mobilizon.
I really wish there was a single platform that federated all the different fedi types. Posts, photos, events, communities, etc.
Awww this reminds me of the early days of Flickr.
That’s what we were going for. I used to organize a few Flickr walks in SF and started the first Instawalks on IG. Those ended up catching up globally, which I’m hoping might happen with Pixelwalks too someday.
