    It must’ve popped when coms went out. The field was so far apart that means it was high up in the water column

      God, there must have been snapped fibers and/or microfractures all over the pressure vessel every time that thing went down, and it finally gave.

      Yeah, sounds like it split into (at least) 2 pieces. What they found is large enough to conclusively identify it as the wreckage. Other details about timing, recovery and an exact cause were not yet available.
