Um acktchually, “aard” does not mean “ant”.

This does imply the existence of a now-extinct “aard”, and that ants were the aardvark’s second choice.
I think I overdid the autistic know-it-all snobbery and went too obscure. So just to be very clear: aard = earth or ground, vark = pig.
