What is this poverty URL? This is like when a grandma tries to share a meme by sending you a 250 character hyperlink with all the tokens and trackers left in that just leads you to a private Facebook page.

What? Direct image and video links hosted on Discord are public.

Also, there are no tokens in the link. Only ID to the group and channel the video is posted on.

If so than its your client/browser not supporting it. The embed seems to be working for me on Firefox and Summit.

Also, I posted the exact same link to Lemmy Shitpost and nobody said anything. Are you sure its not your instance blocking embeds?

Not in any meaningful way, you shouldn’t use a file host as an image host or you get shit like this where the file won’t stream on all platforms and asks you to download it. We should have closed the WWW to new users in 2000.

Its not my fault there. This is the only way to show a video without leaving the site for the browsers and clients that support it, as Lemmy still has no native video support.

Nobody wants to be redirected to a video platform like Youtube or Peertube. Also, there is a canche your own instance is blocking embeds.

Also, the last sentence has so little reason I won’t even fight it.
