    Seriously, if he had cooperated with investigation this would’ve been a big nothing.

    I work for the government, and this kind of thing actually isn’t so uncommon. Things get mislabeled, misplaced, carted off to somewhere they shouldn’t be. Doesn’t happen all the time, but often enough that I’ve witnessed it. It’s actually not a big deal - you self report and disclose everything, information security takes care of it. Mistakes are made, it happens, and when it does there’s a process for resolving it.

    “Oh of course, have a look at my archives and let’s make this right”

    That’s all it would be. Hell, I’d say they would’ve given him special treatment even if it was on purpose, so long as it was all recovered and fixed.

    Pro-Trump conservatives are therefore faced with the daunting task of explaining why it is actually good for an ex-president to illegally keep U.S. atomic secrets lying around his golf club, show off secret military plans to friends as if they were souvenirs, and then refuse to return those documents upon the government’s request.

    They don’t have to explain it, it just feels right and anyone who disagrees is anti-American. Also buttery males.
