“Hamas will not [release hostages] unless they are under pressure,” [Netanyahu] told reporters. […] “we’re committed to getting all the hostages back home. We think that this method stands a chance.”

He doesn’t care about the hostages and I doubt he really thinks this is a good method to rescue them.

All he cares about is his slaughter, his revenge, but two wrongs do not make a right; hurting innocent people in an attempt to get revenge on Hamas is wrong just like Hamas attacking Israeli civilians was wrong. All this is doing, other than killing thousands of people, is making the world remember their hate for Jews and Muslims all over again and making it unsafe for us no matter where we stand on the (overall and current) Israel/Palestine situation.

Jew does not equal Israel. Muslim does not equal Hamas. Calling a war crime a war crime is not antisemitic. Criticizing a government is not antisemitic just because it claims to represent Jews. It doesn’t represent me, motherfucker.

      Netanyahu is a political animal.

He doesn’t care about the hostages, the Palestinians and most of the Israelis. He just barely cares about some of them.

He has one and only one objective here - to win back the 50% votes that he lost because of the terror attack. He’s already blaming the army and those who protested against him, saying that this attack was made possible because of them. According to Israeli media he has PR advisors with him when selecting military objectives and targets to help him choose the best option that will win him the more votes back.

If this goes on I think that there’s a chance that we’ll see a military coup in Israel.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

JERUSALEM, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Israel said on Monday that its forces freed a soldier from Hamas captivity during the ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The soldier, identified as Ori Megidish, was kidnapped by Hamas gunmen who rampaged through southern Israeli communities on Oct. 7.

She has since undergone medical checks and is “doing well,” the military said.

Israel says that over 200 hostages are being held by Hamas, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the ground campaign in Gaza creates the possibility for their rescue.

“Hamas will not do it unless they are under pressure,” he told reporters.

"We obviously greeted one hostage with open arms after yesterday’s successful action … but we’re committed to getting all the hostages back home.
