Is this a stable 545 release, or just another point release for the 545.23.06 beta?

Nvidia has this classed as a “New Features Branch” release, as opposed to a “Production Branch” release, so… Beta?

No, it’s a Stable driver. Production and New Feature are both Stable branches.

Does this still have the top of screen flickering issue I, and many others, are having? I had to roll back from 5.35 to 5.25 to make it stop.

Funnily enough, I can’t say that I saw it any games that I was playing (and they’re certainly Wayland native) while I was on 535 - it mainly showed up in chromium based apps.

When I tried the 545 beta (I haven’t tried the stable yet but I doubt it’s changed) however, Firefox (when not having MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND set - XWayland mode) started having it pretty badly, as well as IntelliJ which can’t reasonably run without XWayland (it’s being worked on) and that’s when I had to go back to 535 as I use multiple JetBrains IDEs for work, making it an instant deal-breaker for me. Never even made it to games at that point, but I would be surprised if WINE/Proton games weren’t being affected by it.

Yes PoP OS is going to update the driver in their repos to this versions. Unless you realy want the new driver just wait the few days/weeks it will take for it to arrive in the official repos
