Interesting choice. I can’t take the list seriously since it doesn’t include Kyoto as one of the most over-touristed places in the world, however. Absolutely lousy with tourists to the extent that they are looking into ways to curb tourism. Still gorgeous and with wonderful food, but way over-touristed. Wish I had gone in more of an off-season.
I was recently wondering if the reason why the newest Mission Impossible shot their Venice scenes largely in Rome. (I’m betting they assumed their US audience wouldn’t know The Spanish Steps are in Rome, for instance.) IIRC, there’s a gondola shot and a balcony one, but the rest of the entire time they’re “in Venice”, it’s clearly Rome. 🤦🏼♂️ Crackin’ down on foreign visitors, including tourists and film crews? 🤷🏼♂️
Also, yes, this is the opposite of a recommendation. I couldn’t even finish the thing, it was such steaming pile.
