They’re probably adding some estimations based on dogs reproducing. Dogs can reproduce easily 1-2 times per year and have many puppies per litter. And a puppy can grow to maturity in about a year.
Annual dog consumption is 388,000. So I doubt they can do that, even if they wanted to.
