The number of countries with national hydrogen roadmaps has more than tripled over the last two years. This shows that many states are getting ready to produce and use renewable hydrogen and benefit from the economic opportunities it will provide, Petra Schwager writes.
Until there’s an alternative process for creating hydrogen that doesn’t use petroleum bi-products and steam, this whole topic and community is just bs greenwashing.
There is an alternative process. It is electrolysis of water.
Which uses more energy than is returned by the created hydrogen.
Which is missing the point. You can turn intermittent wind and solar energy into a useful fuel instead of forcing the grid to deal with them. The whole system is a massive energy positive.
