Watterson is great in that he lets people interpret Hobbes however they want. But for his part, I think he said that he personally thinks of Hobbes not as a toy that magically comes to life, but Calvin simply views him differently. That might sound mundane and boring, but I think it’s kind of beautiful. And again, it’s not the right answer, just one perspective!

I’m not toxic, but I am a fan! So, so much money in the franchise and they’ve all been mediocre-to-bad since Return of the Jedi. Some slight exaggeration to this opinion, but it’s mostly true. And there are some truly incredible stories in the old novels that are now discarded and considered not canon. Such wasted potential…

Honestly, keeping her seems like it’s in her best interest no matter what. You’re awesome for taking care of her! Maybe keep her inside now with a collar and take her to the vet to give more legal cover that she was abandoned in case the neighbor comes by in a year demanding her back? Enjoy your kitty…
