  • Very curious to see how this goes. Was a big fan of the original Star finder and played for several years. Wasn’t as big on the Pathfinder 2nd edition mechanics, so not sure how this will work with it being designed to be compatible with Pathfinder 2.0.

Starfinder 1e certainly wasn’t perfect, but the setting was exactly what I wanted out of an RPG.

  • Check out cube cobra.com for several example cubes. Also there’s several good podcasts out there like lucky paper radio, solely singleton, and “the 540”.

Honestly, if you have a bunch of draft chaf from a set you really liked, just shuffle that up and start drafting it. You’ll figure out what you and your playgroup like and don’t like, and you can start picking up cards that pick those play styles from there.

The nice part about cube is you really control the play environment. Power level, synergy’s, fan favorite cards, etc.

  • Highly recommend looking up slyflourish and the series “lazy dungeon master”. Helped me streamline prep a lot. Biggest things was coming up with the few things you want feature, understanding a general sequence of events and then tying them together along the way.

No session will survive contact with the party, and neither will a campaign. Being able to keep a loose framework you can work within throughout the campaign is the way everyone at the table can have fun.
