    F1 brakes are air cooled…

    so it was precisely because he slowed down entering the pit and did not have enough (fast moving) air to cool the brakes

      With the brake stuck it wouldve still overheated and caught fire regardless of the amount of cooling.

        Yup I was explaining why it was no coincidence the fire appeared while entering pits and not out on the track…

        Had max and the team decided to let him drive a few more laps albeit the smoke coming from the rears… absolutely would have caught fire on the tracks

          I think It could’ve also happened on track just before entering the pits, he was limping home for what felt like at least half the track. But luckily it didn’t I guess.
