There could also be a degree of selection here. People who are more engaged with VR are more likely to upgrade to Quest 3, and people who are willing to spend $500 or $650 on a headset may be more likely to continue to use it than those who paid much less.
It’s such a damn good device. I waited years to save up for an Index thinking it was the best headset on the market even in 2024. Eventually in a moment of weakness I ended up impulse-buying a Quest 3 after reading it basically does all the same stuff at half the cost and wirelessly. Best decision ever.
