So many did, and yet so many are also salty because they didn’t see any hints and it felt like a bullshit rug pull out of nowhere.

I mean I personally wouldn’t rather be locked out of fighting half the game’s enemy variety, so I welcome the rug pull

I think a lot figured it would be like hd1 where you could beat a faction and win the war. Devs stated though they wanted one continuous war for life of hd2.

We know there are more enemies than the two we’re currently facing.

I would make a pretty safe assumption on that, I do just mean currently, but I wouldn’t also want to lose a third of variety either

Just the illuminate (third faction) is missing from Helldiver’s 1, which I’m sure they’ll add in the coming months as they continue to port over content from HD1. I wouldn’t be surprised to find new content in the future that wasn’t from HD1 so I think we’ll see another faction or at the least new enemies.

We’ve already seen signs of them in game. I suspect they’re probably already in, they’re just waiting to reveal them. I’m excited for all the stuff to come and more than happy to go along with the ride they’re giving us.

Tbf, if there were any hints that would have been a massive breach of opsec on the robots part which would be surprising considering the importance of the operation and their very nature.

The major order noted the automatons were sending signals into space. There were shadows of unseen destroyers noted in orbit. There were enough hints, just some people didn’t notice them and didn’t take it well

I didn’t think that and you’re wrong, Cyberstan is/was the cyborg home world for instance. What happened was stealth destroyers above Automaton planets for a while. There were hints in the major order text too.
