Unrest on college campuses, an unpopular Democratic president’s support for Israel, and a Democratic convention planned for Chicago, where an earlier generation of protesters clashed with police in 1968.
Maybe apathy could be beaten back if anybody attacked the real problem. Corporations are committing to a mating of the dinosaurs that will bring about kaijus the like of which we have never seen. The rest of the world enjoys healthcare while we have to go into massive debt just to get a checkup. The student loan thing was bomb, but there’s decades of brush here to clear and each president that makes no progress on these fronts signals they are okay with smothering future generations. They can take their pick, but you won’t beat back this brand new kind of blue without signaling daily you back the people and not the corporations. Which will never happen in the shadow of Reagan where everyone is a neoliberal.
