As an independent, i think this asshole has always been one of the worst possible people the democrats could choose. I still remember floods of democrats begging Obama to reconsider selecting him as his vice president… And he was a lot younger back then.

I’m sure the democrats could fuck this up more with a new person, but the chances are pretty low, even for them, to pick someone worse.

I could see your point before his term but his term has been the best of any president in my lifetime as far as whats been accomplished vs the political situation. Honestly even taking out the wierd political situation. I can’t believe how many things I like out of this administration. Remember though I am comparing to actual presidents and what they produced. Not I would have rather he did X on Y.

I think, with some notable exceptions, Biden had a good administration considering the obstacles faced. I think that’s why it’s all the more important for Biden for Biden to step down. He’s lost public confidence in his ability to win the election - if he loses, he will be blamed for the loss. Assuming that whatever comes after isn’t a 1984 complete rewrite of history, he will be remembered for losing the American Republic to a fascist scumbag. If he steps down now, he will be remembered as a president with a good four years who fought the good fight and decided, in the end at least, to sacrifice his ego for a better chance at saving the American Republic, and that is a noble thing.

thats all fine but its a pipe dream to think whoever replaces him will have a better chance. I already see complaints about replacements. The only one that makes sense to me is harris as she is the only one who was voted for.

Yeah and I tell you if biden drops and harris is selected there will immediately be talk about how she has even less of a chance than biden did and actually anyone who is selected will get the same bs which is pretty much the bs we have now. If biden becomes unable to do the job harris is next anyway. Its like the whole point of a vice president.

Much of both the party electorate and elite have lost confidence in Biden’s ability going forward, and at his age, his ability to project competence is not going to get better. Harris has the advantage of removing age from the equation in appealing to swing voters and motivating Dem voters. I really do think we should just bite the bullet on this one.

again though she is already running and takes over if his age became an obstical. Just be prepared for the avalanche of posts about how it has to be someone else as she has even less of a chance and that someone else will hear screams of how the dems can’t win with them, etc. etc. Mostly because the screams are whispers being amplified.
