Unfortunately this is the one case where I gotta agree with the “voting doesn’t change anything” crowd

Losing the first time around didn’t stop the media from sacrificing the safety of the republic on the altar of the almighty horse race reporting, one more loss isn’t gonna stop it either.

That shit isn’t disappearing without significant voting reforms that consigns the Republicans to the loosely organized also rans that they actually are if you consider independent voters and non voters as additional parties.

I’d say it’s a stretch given the nature of first past the post two party elections and strategic voting. But who knows. Anything could happen.

FPTP is one part, but also the part that can be addressed at the state level.

I’m sure all the non-voters are active at the state level?

I do think it is, but I also think that just beating them in elections isn’t gonna make the horse race go away on its own.

I don’t think he’d have run again if he didn’t land a bunch of charges. He would have continued claiming he was defrauded, but I think he would have fucked off to his shitty club and played golf and run grifts.

In any halfway normal person, I’d agree.

But this guy is a deranged narcissist. He must lead the country and then . . . Ze Vorld!

When he got elected, people said “Oh, he’ll get sick of it and resign in a few months.” Then, when he didn’t resign, they said, “Oh, well, he for sure won’t run a second time”, despite the fact that he never stopped campaigning, even while he was in office.

I’m not buying it. The guy loves being president. He loves the power, he loves the attention. He isn’t going to just dry up and blow away.
