- Ukrainian forces say they’ve blown up a second strategically-significant bridge in the Kursk region of Russia as Kyiv continues its incursion.
- Moscow has yet to mount a robust response to the ambitious cross-border operation.
- As many as 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers are taking part in the incursion into Russian territory that began almost two weeks ago, the Wall Street Journal reports. Kyiv claims it has taken control of 82 settlements in the region over an area of 1,150 square kilometers (444 square miles) since the border raid began.
It’s interesting how Russia labels it an “invasion” when Ukraine makes progress and dismantles their key infrastructure, but when they’re on the offensive, it’s just “liberation” or “special operations.” Seems like the definitions shift depending on who’s pushing forward.
I’m not seeing this being called “liberation” or “special operation” in this article. It’s only referred as “incursion”.
To be fair one side is a democracy with minimal oppression in times of peace and the other is a full on facist dictatorship.
Clearly they aren’t just words but a matter of perspective.
In this case it’s just words. Russians know they are invading foreign lands.
