The developers of upcoming fantasy role-playing game Greedfall 2 have announced plans to strike in protest of management just a few weeks before the game comes out.
I’d love to see them explain their hardships to actual galley slaves, I know they’re using a hyperbolic similie to try and get their point across but it just makes me dismiss them as whinging idiots with no concept of reality or how other people live.
It’s pretty offensive really but overlooking that it’s just absurd, chained to a bench sleeping 3-4 hours and eating vinegar gruel for months at a time is not a similie for a workplace with a gender imbalance and lack of direction from management.
If you can’t say what your real problem is because the rest of the work force will say ‘yesh, it’s a job, that’s how they work’ then don’t try and cover it by making grand statements about how actually slavery, and not just slavery the most brutal form ever to have existed, is basically the same as your affluent lifestyle and 9-5.
And no I’m not having sympathy for them when they all buy products made in sweatshops by people in actual poverty and hardship - it’s so pathetic when people want the world to feel sorry for them because their position above 90% of the human population isn’t comfortable enough.
