I know it’s nitpicking, and I apologize, but this is a pet peeve of mine. Grammatically, it’s either ‘what I look like’ or ‘how I look’ but it’s never ‘how I look like’.

So valid. I’m just screaming into the void, don’t mind me.

Language is simply the intrafrastructure by which we touch another’s mind across space and time. If the bridge holds who are you to critique the materials used to construct it? We speak in different ways, and yet we can all communicate. What makes one way superior to another?

Brother it’s really not that deep. It’s not like I’m casting a moral judgement, I’m just voicing a pet peeve of mine lol

Sister, I guess the ridiculous melodrama of my phrasing didn’t cue you into that I’m just teasing.

God I hate the internet, almost as much as I hate prescriptivists.

Poe’s law and all, I could easily imagine someone saying that seriously. That type of sarcasm doesn’t translate into the Internet as well as saying something completely absurd and unreasonable. Even then people will probably still misinterpret it. Internet sarcasm is hard.

Language is simply the intrafrastructure by which we touch another’s mind across space and time

And grammar is the tool we use to structure our thoughts into intelligible phrases, so that our words convey the correct meaning to our audience. Sure everyone makes grammar mistakes occasionally, but if you respect your audience, you should at least attempt to use proper grammar and graciously accept it as a learning opportunity when a mistake is pointed out.
