I’m sure that “the party of law and order” will accept the inevitable guilty verdicts, move on, and pick another candidate to rally behind for the good of the country.

Why should I unfailingly accept anything the court decides?
Because “the court” doesn’t decide anything. A jury of 12 American citizens does.
Because as we all know, 12 random people are an infallible source of universal truth.
This is the system that we have used since there has been an America. If you want to create a better system, have at it.
