The whole tactical-style-for-not-tactical-thing makes me rage. Not because it exists, but because it’s been picked up by the wrong demographic.

That sort of thing should belong to the realm of the ironic, and be worn by the person who has a bad joke to go with it.

Tactical baby carrier should be for the fun dad who uses it to make jokes about how you otherwise might notice the baby, and not the fragile guy who needs a shield to defend his masculinity in the face of raising his children.

It’s like so much of these things started as a gag, and then got picked up by people who aren’t in on the joke.

It still can be. The fun dad with tactical gear will reveal his fun-ness quickly enough. If the baby’s binky is tactical black, but the multi-tool is Barbie™ pink, it might be a clue.

Heh, very true. It just messes up the first impression which is where the clothing jokes have the best impact. Never as fun if people take time to get to know you before getting the joke your appearance made.

Tbf, if it’s made out of ripstop and has the pockets, I’d use a tactical baby carrier. Ripstop is good shit, and when are pockets not useful? Nothing to do with “being a man” nor jokes for me, everything to do with the material it’s made out of and potential storage lol. I’d get the black/tan/coyote over like multicam tropic or some shit too

Why anyone would be worried about ripping a Christmas stocking I can’t tell you from experience, but I hear it sucks when your stockings get a run in them.

Unfortunately, most that I’ve seen are made out of canvas and that nylon webbing. They generally seem more appearance focused than utility focused.

The not tactical ones are generally made out of the most practical material and have better pockets from what I’ve seen. They are sometimes more pastel colors though, which doesn’t mesh with some people’s identity.
Turns out people have been making practical baby gear for a while, and the military doesn’t really have much to add to the topic.

I like pastels a lot but I do hate that color combo lmao, the darker pink should be like, pastel green. Gimme that wanda/cosmo look. In any case yeah I’d be going with whatever is most durable, color be damned (though black is always best, of course, but that’s the punk in me not the “manly man” lol.)

I’m the same way, color wise. I have noticed that a dark blue with a lighter blue accent (like navy blue and denim colors) fits my aesthetic though, and tends to both look better for things I carry while wearing black shirts, and tolerates usage scuffs and mess a bit better than black, since you don’t wash it as often.

To be fair to that company as well, they do have it in different designs, they just only labeled the features on that color scheme for some reason.
