    Meta alternative to twitter (thread) was(is?) supposed to federate with the fediverse

      @SpeakinTelnet @Waker That sounds a lot more like “the fediverse is going to threaten Meta” rather than “Meta’s going to threaten the fediverse” to me.

        Basically, it would start by federating with the fediverse and once it gains traction start adding non-standard (and perhaps proprietary) features. Others would start to get a more broken experince, until to have an uninterrupted experince with you would need be on the threads version of the fediverse.

          They seem to do everything in their power to make the internet less attractive to me. I guess I should be thankful for that, actually. Never a bad thing to spend less time with it.
