Different game, sure, but people in Destiny 2 are so very much like this. PVP especially, and doubly so in Trials of Osiris. It’s self sabotage. You beat me and want to really tell me how much I suck. So then people leave and never come back. Soon enough, the only people you have to play against are leagues better than you and you’ve become me. It’s asinine.
It’s just really surreal. I guess in a PVP setting, trash talking and gatekeeping “makes more sense” given that your performance actually matters and is more easily comparable than in a single-player game, but it’s annoying all the same. You just get rid of people to play with, whom you might have common interests with. It’s just silly.
