As quoted from the linked post.

It looks like you’re part of one of our experiments. The logged-in mobile web experience is currently unavailable for a portion of users. To access the site you can log on via desktop, the mobile apps, or wait for the experiment to conclude.

This is separate from the API issue. This will actually BLOCK you from even viewing reddit on your phone without using the official app.

Unfortunately, non of this will matter. There are too many mindless zombies OK with consuming garbage content.

I’m not trying to kill Reddit. I’m just not going to use it as it’s sacrificing quality.

I used Netflix for a long time too, but streaming has become so fragmented and the prices keep creeping up I’m back to using piracy. I don’t care that people are still using Netflix, but the service isn’t worth using for me personally.

Same with Reddit. When I can’t use third party apps then I’m done. The default app was a bad experience, the mobile web interface is a bad experience. The difference between a community with 3 million users and a community with 150,000 users isn’t much. It’s guaranteed that people will cross-post popular content from Reddit so you’re not missing out on any content.

That’s okay, kinda a fresh start for the rest of us who do migrate! It’s an evolution process and we are adapting and so hopefully reap the benefits of quality content and real interactions!

Exactly! The more we use it the better it’ll get. The fact that there’s people on Mastodon still after the Twitter Exodus should help too since they’re both federated.
